Ongoing IFS workshop on Online Event Design and Research Budget Preparation

Published: 2021-08-18

The IFS Workshop on Designing Online Training Events: Preparing a Research Budget has started! It is running on the 17, 20, 24, and 27 of August. This unique online workshop uses blended learning - a mix of synchronous and asynchronous activities – to train participants over a 2-week period, in the skills needed to design and deliver an online event as well as the scientific skills needed to prepare a research budget.

The event is held on the Microsoft Teams platform. Technical guidance on the use of Teams as well as other useful online tools are provided. The workshop will explore how to identify and minimise barriers in an online event, and how to effectively engage others in an online setting. As a result of the workshop, participants will design their own online event that is suited to their audience and context. The workshop also involves activities on preparing a research budget and provides the opportunity for participants to develop this scientific skill as well as understand how one can train others on this scientific skill online.

As a result of the workshop, participants will design their own online event on a subject of their choice that is suited to their audience and context. This will be implemented independently by participants within 6 months of completing the workshop.
