Workshop on Current Trends in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Related Disciplines: 1-7 March 2017

IFS, the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, and the Center of Excellence for Innovation in Chemistry (PERCH-CIC) will jointly organize the 5th NRCT-IFS-MU-PERCH-CIC Workshop at Wangchan Riverview, Phitsanulok Province, Thailand. The aim of the workshop is to provide young scientists with scientific methodologies and new research trends in natural products, pharmaceutical sciences and related disciplines, as well as agricultural sciences. It is expected that approximately 50 participants from countries including Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Taiwan and Thailand will be attending the workshop and contributing oral and poster presentations. The program will also include invited lectures and a panel discussion.

Workshop on Applying for Research Funding: 27 February - 10 March 2017

In collaboration with the University of Limpopo Research Office, IFS is organising two consecutive grant proposal writing workshops. Their purposes are to enable early-career researchers to build their capabilities to apply for research funds from international funding organisations. The training will focus on the principles of scientific investigation, the components of the scientific method, and research practices. Under the guidance of senior researchers and experienced grant writers, participants will have the opportunity to apply the scientific method approach with their own research projects. They will also be advised on the formulation of research proposals to address the funding criteria of international organisations.
