Sida Renews its Strong Financial Commitment to IFS

Published: 2014-06-18

This week Sida has extended its support to IFS through a new grant agreement. IFS is uniquely qualified and experienced to help to build the capability and careers of young researchers, and to help to boost least developed scientific infrastructures.

The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) has renewed its strong support to the International Foundation for Science. Following its favourable review of the IFS 10-year strategy, the Swedish development agency last year invited IFS to submit an application for support. Sida and IFS are delighted to report that this was favourably assessed and the two organisations have signed a new grant agreement entitled IFS 2014-18. The objective is to strengthen the capacity of young scientists in Low- and Lower Middle-Income countries to conduct relevant and high quality research on sustainable management of natural resources. We would like to thank Sida for their continued backing for our very important mission.

This is great, IFS has equipped me with substantial capacity to conduct research in Uganda. This would not have been possible without support from IFS in terms of knowledge and funds.
