IFS call for Individual Research Grant Applications attracts over 1200 applications

Published: 2014-02-13

IFS has again received a large response to our call for Individual Research Grant applications. The call, which closed on January 31, attracted 1170 first grant applications along with 41 renewal grant applications and 16 revisions to previously submitted proposals.

In 2013 IFS advertised the second call of the IFS Individual Research Approach. The call was open for a time limited period and proposals were invited in three research areas:

  • Sustainable Natural Resources Management,
  • Water and Aquatic Resources,
  • Food Production, Food Security and Nutrition.

Cross-cutting research topics were encouraged and those with a human rights perspective were welcomed, especially regarding economic, social and cultural rights issues including the rights to food, water and health, as well as issues of governance.

IFS would like to thank everyone for their interest in this opportunity. Feedback to applicants will come later in the year, as will the awarding of grants to the very best applications.
